Hip Harness
For Tie Me up Tuesday this time around, MLSlavepuppet chose a Tobutsuru hip harness. You can find the tutorial here. The tutorial didn’t show the wrapping of the rope over the shoulders or through the back of the waist wrap, but thankfully we have a Duchy book. Reading the instructions given on the prompt, we knew we would need more that the regular 25ft rope, so Mister K and I decided to go with a 100 ft (we’re over-achievers, what can I say?). We used a 3/8 vinyl/cotton blend rope. The cotton makes it nice against the skin, the vinyl keeps it from stretching (something you need for suspension play) and makes it easier to un-knot. Cotton rope should not be used for suspension. It doesn’t hold well over time, and it incredibly difficult to untie if wet (crotch ropes, sweat, gags, etc.).
This is a fairly simple harness and it looks amazing when complete. It can be functional as well as aesthetic. I found it to be extremely comfortable and wore it for quite a while after it was tied. If we had of used a shorter rope, I may have been able to wear it under clothing or to an event. It’s simple yet elegant, and I look forward to using it again in the future. Hopefully to a dungeon party (if they ever allow us out of the house again).

Obviously, we had too much rope. Like a good 50-60 ft extra. Not one to waste a good opportunity, Mister K decided to use all that excess to make a pretty package out of me. Moving onto a leg tie was clearly the next step, so we tried the Karada-hobbleskirt. Tutorial from the Duchy found here.
The hobbleskirt does exactly as the name states. It hobbles you. I was very much left at Mister K’s disposal (not that I’m complaining). While this tie looks really complicated it was extremely easy and could be done independently. You could in theory have your hobbleskirt ropes ready in advance. Obviously, we used one rope for the entire two ties.
The Hobbleskirt was a perfect solution to the extra rope and the final product with both ties turned out great. With an arm bind I would have been completely immobile (hint hint, Mister K). Thanks again to MLSlavepuppet for the prompt!
Please remember to keep safety shears with you at all times when using rope. Accidents happen, ropes tighten, and nerve damage happens a lot easier than you think. Happy Tying!!!

We ended up using three pieces of rope on this one. And I love the hobbled skirt one too, it’s such fun unless I need to stand still for images!
The hobbleskirt is a bit of a pain (for the rope bottom anyway) but it looks great 🙂
We should have used three pieces. It wouldn’t have taken so long to pull all that rope through. Haha.
Oh my, that is some fabulous rope work. Love the hip harness, but damn, the leg tie is so pretty too!

Yours is so so so pretty. It looks so good on you! Makes me want to do it again because of how good it looks. And the additional leg tie makes it so complete. It’s gorgeous. What a happy coincidence that you used such a long rope that it had to be used for this 😛
I had planned to make the hobble skirt a prompt at some point. I would love to try it!
If you ever have a suggestion or a fun idea for a prompt, do let me know! 😁
And thank you for joining in again!
Thank YOU! The hobble skirt is very pretty, and quite effective. It would be a great prompt as it can be done solo 🙂
Beautiful work. I like that you are overachievers…
Oh my yes TY ML for the prompt – LKW you look brilliant – love these pics particularly the leg ones – good job! I like rope but my man does just not seem to think he has to make it look pretty on me. He just likes to make sure I am secure and then gets on with – eh – stuff – lol
May x
Lol May, your husband and his priorities 😛
He may be on to something. The hobbleskirt is not very good for….stuff. lol
