This week’s prompt for Wicked Wednesday is Favorite City, and it really made me think about my kinky travels. Maybe it’s the pandemic that has kept me cooped up for too long, or perhaps I’m just at a stage in life where I’m looking for change, but I’ve been thinking about travelling more of late. I used to think I was content with how much of the world I had seen, but perhaps there’s always time for more.
I couldn’t pick a favorite city. Not because I’ve seen so many, but because, just like people, each place has its charm. Instead, I complied an A-Z list of my kinky travels. Of course, not all the cities I’ve visited are included here (who has time for that?), and with some letters, I had to be creative, but thanks to a gift from a friend many years ago, I have a world map of all the places I’ve been lucky enough to see. Many of the cities could be more influential or well-known, I admit, but this list isn’t about the locations, but my kinky travels and what happened when I got there.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
I was barely 18 when I spent three nights here. On a school trip, I wasn’t really able to see all it offered, except for what our instructors choose to share. But on your last night, a group of us snuck out and did some sightseeing on our own. Too scared to chance going to a café and being discovered, we walked the streets (becasue that’s safer, right?) until we ended in what we know as the “Red Light District.”
Coming from a small town, Amsterdam is A LOT. It’s big and busy, and the things that can be seen- just walking down the street- create a sense of culture shock. Coming from that small town, topics like sex work were very hushed. It was not something you spoke about (in good company-whatever that means), and when it was discussed, it wasn’t with a tone of reverence. Seeing the infamous Red Light District was a huge eye opener for me and where I had always heard a hint of disgust when sex work was talked about, I saw something new and exciting. Sex work could be whatever you wanted it to. Amsterdam has (or had-seeing as it’s currently under fire) a fabulous system (for more than just sex work) that is leading the way for other cities worldwide. I really hope to get back one day.
Boston, Massachusetts
If you’ve been to Boston, you probably love it too. It’s a beautiful city with scenic views, great vistas, and tons of Early American history. It has its own culture, sitting somewhere between the joviality of a small fishing town and the speediness of a metropolis. Although it is a large city, it doesn’t feel so, but it has so much to offer that you’d need an extended trip to see everything.
But I love Boston because of who lives there, not the city itself. Before Mister K, I dated a man, much older than me, who completely had me twitterpated. I would have followed him almost anywhere and was once asked to. Instead, I visited and spent 10 days in his bed, then said a tearful goodbye. But as they say, “we’ll always have Boston.”
Chicago, Illinois.
I have three words for you- The Admiral Theatre. This is a live theater house with nude acting staff. And this isn’t the only theatre in Chicago for this purpose. I just happened to be invited to a show and said what the hell, and I’m so glad I did. I laughed, I cried, I got aroused. A must see if you’re ever in the Windy City.
Denver, Colorado
I don’t remember a lot about Denver. It’s a modern city with a nineteenth century twist. I went there with an ex-boyfriend who won tickets to a Bronco’s football game (American Football- not soccer) and don’t even remember who won. I do remember having rushed sex in the stadium surrounded by thousands of screaming fans slathered with orange face paint (almost sounds like Amsterdam). Good times!
Edinburgh, Scotland
Not my favorite Scottish City, but the one where I learned what men wear under their kilts and that Heather sounds like a soft plant, but in fact, it’s just a pain in the ass (but still pretty).
Frankfurt, Germany
To be honest, I spent little time in Frankfurt. It was an overnight stop between the Netherlands and Prague. I didn’t even leave the hotel room except to eat in the lobby restaurant. But my roommate snuck her boyfriend- who was also on the trip- into the room late one night, obviously thinking I was a sleep (or maybe she wanted a spectator?). Let’s just say I came harder with my own fingers than she did that night. They broke up a few weeks later.
Grande Cache, Alberta
Grande Cache is not Grand. It’s basically a hole in the ground tucked between the Rocky Mountains and the forest of Northern Alberta. But I love it because it is the place whereon my and Mister K’s first road trip together, we camped out and enjoyed the most intense Northern Lights I’ve ever seen. Even before kink, coming down from an orgasmic high with the lights of the Aurora Borealis dancing above you is quite surreal and definitely memorable.
Halifax, Nova Scotia
Halifax has tons of history, culture, and entertainment. I went there to help open a hotel and met a delightful man who tried unsuccessfully to sweep me off my feet. While I declined to stay behind with him, there was that time in the pool, another in the restaurant restroom and a few on the beach.
Invermere, British Columbia
During any season, this not-quite-a-city has something to offer. I’ve hiked and skied, fished and swam, but the best thing to do here is enjoy the hot springs. Naked and with a friend, preferred.
Jasper, Alberta
Though also not a city, Jasper is a place you go to get lost and find yourself. Be sure to bring rope.
Kelowna, British Columbia
Kelowna is a city on the Okanagan Lake, one of Mister K and my favorite places to visit. We spent our honeymoon here and didn’t really see a lot since we were busy consummating our marriage vows and all. Prior to the pandemic, we used to spend a few weeks each year somewhere on the Okanagan; picking fruit, wine tasting or walking along the long stretches of beach. Not to mention all the other fun (kinky) things we like to do.
Lloydminster, Alberta
Anyone that has been to Lloydminster is scratching their heads and wondering why on earth anyone would put it on any list? They are correct in doing so. Lloydminster is nothing like London or Las Vegas. It’s a small city on the border of two Canadian provinces and that’s really about it. But it has a story.
Passing through at a speed that warranted being pulled over by the local authorities, I was asked where I was going and noting that I had been driving for approximately 10 hours; the cop asked why I in such a hurry. I lied (oops) and said I was on my way to a family event (although I was on my way to a scheduled weekend-long lovers’ rendezvous). The nice police officer then said, “I’ll let you off with a warning, but only if you have dinner with me on your way back through.” I had two choices. A sexual harassment dispute with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police or have dinner end with me and my heavy foot getting away scot-free. Hmmm. Decisions, decisions.
Dinner was delicious, and he was a very nice (and very vanilla) man 😊 Stop at the Gold Horse casino if you ever get there. The menu is amazing.
Moncton, New Brunswick
This is another Canadian city that doesn’t have much to boast about. Mister K and I went there to visit his brother and had a very enjoyable weekend that ended with me being tied to a balcony railing (brother was not present) with a wonderful view of the distant harbour. Highly recommend!
New Orleans, Louisiana
This one should be on everyone’s list. With Mardi gras, a vibrant nightlife and spicy Cajun cuisine, you’re sure to find yourself licking your lips. I spent three nights in the Big Easy, and very much lived up to its name.
Olympia, Greece.
Okay, this one is cheating since it hasn’t had living residents for thousands of years. But I did see Olympia and enjoyed a very nice fingering somewhere between the Greek Baths and the Hostels, but that’s a story for another day.
Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
This was not supposed to be a sexy trip, but our hotel ended up beside Coco Bongo. Coco Bongo is known for its live shows, late-into-the-night dancing and seductive atmosphere and we (a friend and I) got caught up in the Coco Bongo spell. The real-life story led to this fictionalized tale.
Qualicum Beach, British Columbia
Again, not a city, but a small town on the East Side of Vancouver Island, Canada. This town was a stop on mine and Mister K’s second trip together. We spent 10 days in a car, tenting each night in a new town, and Mister K finally saw the Pacific Ocean. In Qualicum, we attempted to have sex on the beach but were interrupted by a group of kayakers. They were a great cheering squad, though.
Rome, Italy
Rome isn’t really the story, but the destination of a backpacking trip taken when I was 19. Gil is the story, and you can read more about him here.
Sylvan Lake, Alberta
Sure, I could have chosen Seattle or San Diego because I have marvellous stories for both those cities as well, but Mister K and I just went to Sylvan Lake a few months ago. A shore side community on the south end of an abnormally large lake for this part of Canada, there’s plenty to do rain or shine. Our experience took us onto the water in a rowboat, where I was cuffed to the paddle anchors and given some delicious smacks with a riding crop. FYI: Squirming in a rowboat is a bad idea, but I guess that was kind of the point… (yes, we wore life jackets). You can read that story here.
Toronto, Ontario
Toronto is Canada’s busiest city. Mister K and I spent some time here a few years ago for a conference and thoroughly enjoyed its night life. We ended the weekend at a strip club where Mister K bought me a lap dance. 10/10.
Ucluelet, British Columbia
Another Vancouver Island town, but on the west side. This trip was part of my Marine Biology course in Highschool (whatever got me off the prairie) and included whale watching, sea urchin collecting and on one lucky night, cock sucking and muff diving.
Vancouver, British Columbia
Even if the best one-night stand of my life hadn’t of happened here, I would still place Vancouver on my list. It’s a modern city (compared to Rome, London, and Paris) but has so much culture and shopping and the food! Yum! I was here for Pride Week in 2016 and had the time of my life (did I mention the best one-night stand of my life?).
Wetaskiwin, Alberta
A short drive from Alberta’s capital city, Wetaskiwin is not what you would call a tourist hotspot. Which is perfect because each year at the end of August, a group of life stylers host an outdoor kinky weekend. With classes, displays, and presentations, not to mention an outdoor play space, it’s always a great time. I can’t wait to get back.
X
I don’t have a city for X, likely because I’ve never been to Spain or Asia. Although, I did drive through a Mexican city called Xalapa, but I was on a youth group trip and nothing sexy happened. I know, I’m disappointed too.
Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
I spent the months of June through August in Yellowknife the summer I turned 18 (two weeks after returning from Europe). I went there for a summer job (remember the marine biology course I mentioned-it served a purpose). Although the sun didn’t really set (until late July and early August- and then for only a few hours) and I was sleep deprived most of the time, it was a great experience. I spent most nights (what even is night that close to the Arctic circle?) with a Norwegian university student named Erik who had the most kissable lips. And that’s really all I remember about him all these years later (sorry Erik).
Zagreb, Croatia
Mister K’s paternal lineage is here, but I visited Zagreb many years before I met him. Part of the European tour I took in Highschool, I didn’t get to experience it the way I would have liked (I’m seeing a trend). I did, however, get a front-row seat to a couple making love across the way. At first, I thought I should perhaps close the hotel room curtains and mind my business, but when he pushed her up against the window glass, pulling her hair and thrusting into her with a ferocity I had at the time only dreamed about, I assumed they would be okay if I watched. We all had sweet dreams that night.
So that’s my A-Z List of Kinky Travels. I think it’s a pretty good one. Perhaps I’ll get the chance to travel more and even get an experience in a place that starts with the Letter X. If not, that’s okay too. As Dave Matthews said,
“it turns out it’s not where but who you’re with that really matters.”
Happy (kinky) travels.

Fantastic post Mrs K – what a lot of wonderful cities you have been to. I remember your Rome story. I have been there too. My fave city is Florence. You have really made me think I must make a list of those cities i can remember visiting.
May xx
Florence is pretty amazing too!
You should write that list. I really enjoyed the walk down memory lane and felt quite joyous when finished, like I had traveled all over again(much needed when you’re still feeling like you’re on lockdown).
<3
Loved this, I haven’t been to any of the places you mentioned but your whistle stop tour has me adding locations to my bucket list! How delicious that in so many cities listed you had a romantic or a kinky adventure – go you!
I have bookmarked your links for further reading – thanks!
I’m so glad you liked it Posy! Yes, I’ve been very fortunate to create so many lasting memories. The Great thing about N. America is that there’s so much to see and do. Unfortunately, unlike Europe it’s expensive to travel (like $700 CA for a trip across country, 1 way.). But if you ever get here, it’ll be worth the trip 🙂
Wow, MrsK, this is quite a list. I enjoyed reading this, and you made me smile with that story about dinner with the police officer, but also your trip to the Red Light District. Sadly, I think a lot has changed since you visited there.
Thank you for sharing this 🙂

Oh, that’s disheartening to hear about Amsterdam. It was such a great experience and I really look forward to getting back (maybe I can visit some new friends😁). Thank you for the prompt. I really needed the walk down memory lane!
It indeed is sad about Amsterdam… but, if ever you come over here again, we definitely need to meet up!
I would absolutely make the trip, just for that 🙂
