Reining in those words

Kinky Advent 2020-Day 3

See the other posts in this project here.

It December 3rd and Day 3 of Kinky Advent 2020, where I’ve combined two excellent themes to make one great project. Today is Reining in those Words.

Harness those Reindeer

The theme over at The SafeworD/s Club is: Harness those Reindeer. The idea was to create a bit gag and get ready for some fun.

I’ve done a previous post on rope bit gags, and therefore wanted to try something new. After some online searching, I found a gag made as a two use toy (blindfold and bit) and it gave me an idea. Using a cardboard tube from a roll of aluminum foil, and some silver sticky paper, plus the addition of red electrical tape and an old white ribbon, a bit gag was quite easy to make.

It worked really well, and Mister K said he was pleasantly surprised by just how easy it was. I’m sure he also enjoyed the peace and quiet.

The Wise Words

At the Submissive Guide, the prompt for the advent calendar Day 3 is: The Wise Words. The goal was to take 5 minutes to think of three wise pieces of advice that you’ve carried with you on your submissive journey.

Being gagged was an excellent way to do this. When you can’t speak, it’s definitely easier to reflect. After a small amount of time considering I finally came up with these three:

It's better to be 5 minutes early than 5 minutes late.

My foster father used to remind me of this when I would leave the house for work or to see friends. He was simply reminding me not to be late, which is good advice in any setting. Being on time shows respect and that you value others time.

This advice has benefited me many times, especially on my submissive journey. I’m sure that wasn’t where he thought I would use it, but I am forever grateful.

You have two ears and one mouth so you can listen more than you speak.

Mister K says this, mostly to our children, but I have had it directed at me more than once. It’s a good reminder that you can learn something if you just listen and not everything needs to be said. An apt piece of advice to go with the bit gag prompt.

Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those that mind don't matter,
and those who matter don't mind.

Dr. Seuss is one of my favourite poets. Not only did he had an uncanny ability to create poetry, but also because his words had meaning. They weren’t just said for the sake of it (okay, some were). This is a good reminder that I need to communicate with Mister K, and because he and I matter to each other, he won’t mind my thoughts. And often, he encourages them.

So far Kinky Advent 2020 has been a success. Tomorrow brings a new set of prompts and new challenges. Something I look forward to. Without challenges, success isn’t quite the same.

Until tomorrow!

  1. I love your creative gag and how well it fits in that image, and I love your wise words just as much, especially this:

Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those that mind don’t matter,
and those who matter don’t mind.

    So damn true!

Thank you for always sharing such sexy images, and giving us words to think about 🙂
