Tame the Mane

Tame the Mane

Hair Bondage is nothing new to Mister K and I, although we don’t use it often as my hair is so long. With that being said, this time around for Tie Me up Tuesday, MlSlavepuppet prompted us with hair ties, so I thought I would give it a go.

The prompt gave many different varieties of ties to try, so like the good student (and girl) I am, I tried a few. The did the first two myself, as Mister K was indisposed.

Braiding Rope into Hair

Knowing that rope is difficult to use in hair, due to it being so smooth and silky, I used a 5mm (3/16″) jute rope as I thought it would stick better. Being that my hair is waist length, I knew a french braid would be almost impossible solo, so I went for my go-to: The side braid.

Using the rope as a hair tie (bobble to those in the EU) I was able to split it into two lengths and choose a side to layer it in with. It was simple and left plenty of rope left over for other purposes. But for today, just hair, unfortunately.

The Jute matched my hair a bit too much for my liking but worked quite well, although it did get tangled towards the bottom. Using the remainder of the rope (only a portion, as the rope was 7.5 meters (25ft)), I was able to tie it off. The remainder would make a nice lead, if one was needed, or could be tied into something else. I may use this again in the future, just because. It was easy, efficient and beats searching for a hair tie every time I need my hair out of my face. I think I’ll use a shorter strand next time though.

Hair-Ties and Hog-Ties

I’ve seen other rope bunnies hog tie themselves, but I discovered they are either much more flexible than I, or have more patience. Either way, a hog tie did not happen. I did however, manage to tie the rope in my hair using a bit of The Duchy’s tutorial and some improv as I went along. It’s not pretty, but it is effective.

The jute stood out a little better with this tie, but again, I had plenty of rope left over. Thinking about that hog-tie, I did the next best thing, attached it to a shoe. It gave the same sensation as being hog-tied, but being alone, I was assured I could easily remove a shoe if needed. Plus I got to wear stilettos. Win-win!

After showing Mister K the two ties I did, he assured me he could do a better job, like I would have doubted him. After explaining that the rope could be an issue he chose a red cotton rope. I’m sure because it matched my outfit nicely!

Cascading Water Fall

A few weeks ago, MLSlave and I were chatting and she sent me a picture of a Waterfall Hair Tie. After watching the tutorial, I knew I had to try it, or rather, have Mister K tie it. He agreed to do that for the prompt, and once again I was amazed at how patient and talented he is.

The tutorial for this tie calls for a Celtic knot to rest against the forehead after two french braids are tied. As I mentioned, a french braid was not going to happen. Also I’m growing out a bad undercut (the choice was bad, the undercut was awesome) so I knew the french braid wouldn’t have looked very pretty.

For this, instead of the Celtic knot, I placed the rope over my head like a headband and wrapped the hair around the rope to keep it in place. It worked quite well, good knowledge to save for later.

Learning the Ropes

Mister K then tied a Double Coin Knot at the back of my neck and continued the tie as per the tutorial. Because my hair is extremely long, the entire 7.5 meters (25ft) of rope was used. This took about an hour or so to tie, after figuring out how to keep it in place. My goal was to incorporate it not add it. I think it looked amazing (as usual) and agree with the tutorial influencer that it has a maiden hairstyle feel to it. Something you would have seen in the times of knights and castles.

Mister K said the next time (yes, he wants to do it again) he’d like to use a shorter rope and space the Coin knots farther apart to show the detail better. But for the first time trying this tie, I think it was absolutely stunning! If not a bit heavy.

Please remember to keep safety scissors on hand at all times when using rope. Also, rope should be snug, not tight. Any tingling, numbness or blue tinged limbs are a sign that all rope play needs to end. Better safe than sorry. Most importantly, have fun!

  1. I can’t believe you managed to do this, the cascading waterfall! Not because of your and Mister K’s capabilities but I’m just genuinely in awe looking at this bondage in your hair. I did look at your pictures and read your post a few weeks ago so it’s not the first time I’m looking at it but I’m having the exact same response as the first time! Did it feel heavy to wear it?

I love that he would like to do it again. That genuinely makes me happy!

The other ones, it’s funny you say hair bobble for the eu! I think it’s actually more just British? In the NLs American English is the common one people go for. Your braid looks so neat with your rope. I think that’s what Roxy would like me to do.

It’s so clever you attached the rope to your shoe to mimic a hog tie. I will remember this for self bondage ideas…

You inspire me so much, honestly! Thank you for sharing these things with us.

    1. Oh, Thank you! Inspiration is always a good thing to be known for 🙂
Yes, it was heavy. We used a cotton rope for it, so having it concentrated on one area added some tension to the back of my head. Lol. I would like to try with a smaller diameter so more hair shows through. It was super pretty and would make a great accessory to any outfit (I think).
Thank you for sending me to idea 🙂

I'd love to hear from you!
