The Faceless Lady

The Faceless Lady

In the light she was
beauty and wonder,
quite a sight to behold.
Many lover would call upon her,
but she chose to remain alone.

For at night she was
terror and horror,
a dreadful spine-chilling sight.
If any would call upon her,
she'd give them a hair-raising fright.

She wanders the staircase
and hallways,
an eerie reminder of a time,
when lovers would call upon her,
for a chance to make her "mine".

Now there are no lovers,
no-one to call upon.
For her skin is no longer a cover,
for the gruesome sight of her skull.
