I started this weeks Tie Me up Tuesday prompt solo as I’ve been trying to learn some new skills this year, rope ties being one of them. Self-Tying is not the same experience as being a rope bottom simply because you can’t relax and let the rope hug you tight. I find my mind clears when I’m being bound, and I thoroughly enjoy that aspect. Mister K believes it releases the same happy hormone-oxytocin- as hugging does, and I think he may be on to something.
The Self Arm-Binding tie by Patrick Shibari was what MLSlavepuppet recommended for a self-tie, so I went with that.
This was a fairly simple tie, with only two true knots. It does require some flexibility though, as well as patience. The half-hitch at the beginning was the hardest for me as you are not able to apply tension to the rope before pulling it tight. I found I needed to adjust it fractionally before it sat how I preferred. I forgot to place the bight over my thumb though, but it stayed in place well. I’ll likely use it again, and Mister K said it could come in handy for more than just show. That sounds promising 🙂
Mister K thought the X-Cinch tie was very elegant, so we tried that one next. Our rope selection is lacking temporarily as we cut our 50 foot rope into two 25 foot lengths for a different prompt. Ultimately, we decided to do it with the black anyway, but ran out of rope before we could get the hand cross completed.
It still looked pretty good considering, although I was able to slip my hands out. I’m not sure if this would be possible with the hand cross, but maybe we’ll try it again at a later date and find out. The indentations from the rope were my favourite part though. They always are, even if they don’t last long.
Knowing that I could easily escape the X-Cinch Harness, Mister K began a mission to find something that was impossible to get out of alone. He succeeded, as always.
The tutorial called for roughly 50 Feet of rope and obviously we didn’t have that. We could have tied in a second 25 foot rope (like the tutorial calls for) but Mister K is used to making the rules, not following them. He decided on the 100 foot rope that we’ve used here, here and here.
I’m very happy he did!
The SKorpion V-Harness took a very long time to tie. I won’t tell you how long, because you’ll never try it. I absolutely loved this tie, the length of time it took and the finished look. We had quite a bit of extra rope after finishing the tutorial, so Mister K kept weaving and knotting and voila!
It was comfortable to lay in and even though my arms were fatigued at the end, they felt fine the next day. I did the opposite arm as the tutorial suggested, for comfort, and am pleased I did. I was bound this way for almost 2 hours after completion, so a very, very long time in total. If you try it, please move your arms around to find the most comfortable placement, you’ll be happy you did.
Please remember to always have safety scissors on hand when doing rope bondage, and that ropes should be snug, not tight. The safety of yourself and others should never be optional.
Most importantly, have fun!

You described the difference between being tied and self tying perfectly. I never feel like I’m able to relax when I’m self tying, but it is satisfying to see the result afterwards (if it works out). I’m not sure if I would do self tying if it were just for me though. I don’t think I enjoy the experience enough. I’m impressed with how perfect the self arm binding tie looks. It’s kind of encouraging and makes me think I could do it too. I do hope it will come in handy in the future 😉
The x-cinch one looks so pretty. It reminds me of… this thing which name i’ve forgotten. I was wondering how effective it was as it did look like you could possibly slip your hand out! Love how he had to try out something else that you couldn’t escape out of as a result, hehe.
Now the last one is AMAZING! That looks sooo good and he tied it so neatly, wow. I’m in awe looking at it!
I honestly can imagine this took ages lol and I don’t think I would have the patience for that so I’m really glad I get to enjoy it through you instead
I was very pleased with it as well 🙂
Mister K is so patient,(mostly) and bravo to him!
Some great rope work here!! Patience abounds by both the tier and the tiee! Not words but I’m using them anyways.
Haha. I always thought they should be words too. Maybe not correct but logical 🙂
Your ties are always so beautiful. I love those last images, and think it must feel so good to be tied like that. Safe.

Safe is a good word for it 🙂
Your rope work is so professional. You inspire me to get tied up! 😊
Thank you! Mister K holds mountains worth of patience 🙂
Oh yes! Well done MrK, this is so beautiful to see. Working with 100ft of rope and still having such a neat and tidy finish. You are so perfectly framed in this. Gosh, all the love!
These long rope sessions are my favourite 🙂
Other people dont find this as fascinating as I do. I used some knots and “ties” doing rescue work, fire school.
I fondly remember a things called the “California Love Knot” which was used to restrain hands/limbs for extraction.
I’ll have to look that up! Sounds like my kind of tie!
And I suddenky have visions of firemen in my head 🙂
It might have had multiple names but it is out there!
I found it! If it’s the right one, we call them Texas handcuffs. I did a post about it 🙂
Not quite psychic but I dont feel so bad now…
Damn, that is some tie, I am beyond impressed Mister K. And MrsK for providing the form.
I do have to add that I absolutely love the Self Arm-Binding Tie!
He has so much patience. What more could a girl ask for?
🙂
