Dog Days of Summer

Dog Days of Summer

Dog Days of Summer

♫♪ Now that it’s June, we’ll sleep out in the garden
And if it rains, we’ll just sink into the mud
Where it is quiet and much cooler than the house is
And there’s no clocks or phones to wake us up

Because I have learned that nothing is as pressing
As the one’s pressing would like you to believe
And I am content to walk a little slower
Because there’s nowhere that I really need to be

And I find that life is easier
When it’s just a blur
With no details to
Confuse who or what or where I was
So when the ending comes
The full regret will seem obscure

But these are days we dream about
When the sunlight paints us gold ♪♫

-The Difference in Shades, Bright Eyes-

The Dog Days of Summer are when the sun occupies the region of the sky shared with Sirius (the brightest star, seen anywhere on Earth) and part of the constellation Canis Major (the greater Dog) and are the hottest of the year. They mark July 22-August 22 and are associated with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, and bad luck (as per Wikipedia).

Mister K felt that I needed a bit of rest and relaxation before the hustle of the fall comes into play. The days have been getting shorter, but the heat still persists, drawing the end of the Dog Days of Summer. Sometimes the best way to reconnect is to simply have fun with the one you love. Days like this have me flipping for joy!

  1. So wonderful with the balance of light and dark. Plus, I have something to look forward to…I’m in the Southern Hemisphere, see snow on the alps every morning….waiting for the days of warmth on the beach!

I'd love to hear from you!
