The Great Outdoors
I love the Great Outdoors. I love the scents, the sounds, the scenery. The way everything appears to be complete chaos, and yet every tree, rock ,and river has a place, and works together as one. Without one, another cannot exist and nature knows how to correct it.
Even though Mister K and I don’t live in the city, we still take every opportunity we can get to back to nature, which for us is a trip to the Canadian Rocky Mountains or the Foothills that lead to the plains. When in nature, I feel most comfortable, most energetic and most at home. If I didn’t have children, I could probably live there forever (they need the internet), which is along term goal for our retirement (well, Mister K’s… I’m sort of retired now, really).
I cheated a bit as these images were taken early autumn of last year, but since it’s February now, and I live in Canada, you’ll have to forgive me. The temperature today is a balmy -1 C (30.2 F), with 90km winds! And when coming from the North, that wind has a bite. As Canadians, we don’t let the elements stop us (much anyway), but that doesn’t mean we want to get naked in them. I’m sure the images wouldn’t have the same effect had I worn a snowsuit!
