Stockings and Other Hosiery of 2020

I do love a good pair of stockings. Can’t help but to delight in the way their silky fine threads slide against my freshly exfoliated skin. How the thought of them speaks to my sexual side and that when I wear them, I feel like more than just a woman, becoming a sexual being as well. Men and women view them with a certain sexual prowess, making stockings a symbol known the globe over.

Prior to the 1920s, stockings were knitted from cloth and primarily worn for warmth. It’s also interesting and should be noted that they were originally designed to be worn by men. When the roaring ’20s came to pass, women started wearing dresses shorter than had ever been seen before. They too wanted to stay warm, rightfully so and along came the modern stocking. With the new demand came a new style with an unavoidable consequence. We discovered; stockings can be sexy. There was no turning back.

The fashion trend that we have today finally made an appearance in the ’40s, while the materials we used changed too. New styles were created and we first saw sheer stockings in various colours, styles, and materials become all the rage. With the invention of elastic and rubber, we tired of garter belts and found a new simpler stocking, one known as hold-ups. I am of the opinion we should have just let them be, the one size fits all mentality is not for me. But I have to say that on the right legs, you should just take my money. Mine are not those legs though, myself preferring a more industrial style.

A simple length of silk can take any outfit and make it newly inspired, flirtatious, and sexy. The small peek of flesh between the stocking’s band and whatever outer garment wore, teases the senses and makes even the most stoic sit up and pay attention, their curiosity piqued. We can’t help but wonder what else there is to see. The mystery feeds our imagination. Indecent thoughts feeding our dreams.

Stockings can be just for your legs or they can cover your bum. They make them for your whole body, with cut-outs and unique designs. And of course, there are some that “won’t run.” Whatever you desire, you can now find, men and women alike.

There’s no wrong way to wear a pair, even if you wear them by themselves. I have no shortage of styles, although fishnets seem to be my favourite.
