Pin Up Past-Time

Pin Up Past-Time

I’ve always been fascinated with Burlesque. The comedy, the parody, the costumes. Burlesque was created in a time when women were very much under the thumb of men (one of my favorite places to be, I’m not judging) and musical theatre gave them a place to be free and show sexual prowess.

Burlesque Pin up is my first choice, mainly because in North America the 50’s pin up, the rockabilly theme, has been done and redone and is a fashion trend and no longer the empowering force it once was.

Burlesque dancers were the front-men (front-women?) of performances that were quick-witted, sexually suggestive and risque in nature. The skimpy costumes were just an added bonus.

I asked Mister K to help me with a tribute to the Burlesque era and being the man of high standing he is, he agreed. Below is the outcome. Enjoy!

    1. I did read it! I would have loved to have seen the burlesque dancers of that time. While you can still see a semblance of them in Vegas, Reno and I’m told London, I don’t think it would be quite the same 🙂

I'd love to hear from you!
